Workshops

Some fifteen workshops are held each year. They draw on the experience of members as well as that of guests invited for their expertise in selected fields.

The latest workshop focused on the following themes: connection between Stated Purpose and Communication, the use of blockchain in communication, “thought leadership”, building trust, the action of the Communication Department in company transformation and digital innovations in communication (data management, social media, collaborative intranets, e-reputation watch and artificial intelligence).

Working groups

Over a period of six to twelve months, about thirty members meet regularly to discuss and work on a topic that has a strong impact for the Communications Director.

In 2020, the discussions focused on "the raison d'être, the driving force for companies" (in partnership with the communication agency Babel) and "employee commitment, a priority for business transformation".

In previous years, working groups were organized to think about and come up with recommendations on the organization of communication departments, the future of the function, "employee advocacy", the brief (in partnership with the AACC).

Monthly lunches with distinguished speakers

Monthly lunches are opportunities to meet with public figures from the economic, political, intellectual or scientific world and to discuss their perspective on a topic that directly touches on communication or, more broadly, the context in which companies operate.

Latest guests: Pascal Demurger, CEO of MAIF Group, Thomas Gomart, Director General of IFRI (French Institute of International Relations), Alexandre Ricard, CEO of Pernod Ricard Group, Augustin de Romanet, CEO of ADP (Paris Airports), and Martin Bouygues, CEO of Bouygues Group.

Study trips

Designed as a “learning expedition”, the annual study trip is an opportunity for members to study a country’s economic and political environment, its practices and key issues at stake, when it comes to communication and company engagement.

In 2019, Entreprises et Médias visited Brussels after Brexit and the European elections. Previously, members went to London to consider the future of relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union and to Milan to uncover the economic worlds of luxury, fashion and finance.

The next destination - Berlin - will be a chance to look back on the Franco-German relationship in Europe and the digital transformation of media and companies in Germany.

Annual seminar

The annual two-day seminar is a time to decipher the latest developments in the profession and determine the main lines of the future programme of Entreprises & Medias.

Thanks to group mini-projects and presentations by key observers, the community gains invaluable insight on a variety of current issues.

Colloques

Every three years, Entreprises et Médias holds a symposium open to audiences beyond its communication directors and their employees. It is attended by company leaders, experts, journalists, representatives of professional organisations, grandes écoles, etc. These events are dedicated to analysing the shifts in motion in communication issues and practices. In 2019, discussions focused on companies’ stated purpose and information manipulation.
